REGISTRATION DAY - SUN 10TH AUGUST

All members will receive via email or our website a registration form to register for next season - Summer 2008/2009. We STRONGLY encourage all existing members to register by Sunday 10 August 2008 and to attend the team selections (for U8s, U10s, and U12s) which will be held at our home court - Mt View Primary School. Players who do not register by the cut off date will make it extremely difficult for the age coordinators to formulate teams. New players to the club should attend and register on this day. If a new or existing U8s, U10s, or U12s player does not attend the team selections, the age coordinators will have little choice but to place players where there is a vacancy only.

Registration and Team Selections for Summer 2008/2009

All players must wear suitable shoes and clothes to partake in drills (t-shirts/shorts).

One fee of $160 includes Training hall hire, Game Scoresheet fees, Registration, Insurance and Singlet hire. PLUS a once-off $20 deposit on the singlet also needs to paid, if this was not paid last season. This is fully refundable when the uniform is returned. Families with 3 or more children registered per season will receive a discount of $10 per child per registration.

Registration forms will be available on the day. If you wish to register your children now for the Summer 2008/2009 Season, please go to the "downloads" page and print off a copy. Complete it fully and post it to The Treasurer, WRBC Inc. PO Box 3279 Wheelers Hill 3150 (Do not send cash via mail. We accept cash/personal cheques/VISA, MASTERCARD, BANKCARD and Internet Banking facilities available ($5 processing fee for all credit cards). Please note that players will not be registered or assigned to a team prior to payment of all fees. Credit Card/cash payments must be processed by the Treasurer.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING INVITATION

You are invited to the Annual General Meeting of Waverley Raiders Basketball Club on Monday 21st July at 8.00pm at Mount View Primary School staffroom.

All positions are vacant and new committee members are always welcome and needed. Please consider joining, even as a general committee member as the current committee would GREATLY appreciate some assistance. To nominate someone, please go to the "downloads" page and print off a copy. Complete it fully and post it to The Secretary, WRBC Inc. PO Box 3279 Wheelers Hill 3150. If you would like any items to be placed on the agenda, please forward them to the Secretary by 14th July 2008.

REFEREE SCHOOL

Beginners' School for referees will commence at Nunawading Stadium on Sunday 20th July 2008 from 6.30 - 8.30pm. The school is runs 2 hours per week for 4 weeks.

Cost: $50 (includes rule book).

YOU NEED TO BE 15 YEARS OR OLDER

This is a great way to get fit and earn some extra cash on the side. Call Gladys Trembath on 9802 6876 to book.

SCORING FOR FINALS

This season we have to provide scorers for all finals - including the grand final (in the past official scorers have been supplied for the grand finals).

MEBA have requested that those who score for the finals are VERY EXPERIENCED - and have preferably done the MEBA Scorers training. Please think ahead. If there is a chance that your team will make the finals, please ensure you have scorers nominated now.

MEBA is holding a scoring school in preparation for the upcoming finals in September:

Wednesday 13th August from 7.30pm to 9.00pm at Nunawading Stadium. Please call 9802 9097 after August 1st with your name, phone number and club. The cost is only $5 and you will be provided with a scorers' manual. Please bring along a red pen, blue pen and note paper.

SUMMER 2007/2008 PRESENTATION DAY - SUNDAY 16 MARCH 2008, 12PM

The club invites all members (new and returning), parents, coaches and well wishes to the Summer 07/08 Season Presentation Day at Mt View Primary School Gym. BBQ sausage sizzle and drinks will be available from 12pm and presentation of awards begins at 1pm. Attendance is strongly recommended as trophies will be presented for participation (U8, U10), MVP & Coaches awards (U10 - U18), 5 year service awards, Bellinda Allen & Stuart McMillan memorial awards (for junior coaches) and the Perpetual Service award.

We will also be holding our popular Raiders 'Shoot-out' for the U8 and U10 player finalists - this is a fun way to encourage correct shooting style in young players, especially when shooting free throws. Let's all thank Vince Geeves for organising this event. Please bring plenty of loose change for our popular presentation day raffle. There are some excellent prizes on offer, including food and drink hampers, raiders sports bags and other basketball items.

If you have not paid your registration fees yet, our treasurer will be available to accept these and our uniform coordinator will be bringing uniform kits for those that need them. Please assist them by bringing cash.
